Snow Day

Posted on January 12, 2011

Major snow storm in the forecast for Sunday night, I was a little skeptical, but we woke to a winter wonderland.  We received 6+ inches of snow at our house over night.  We rarely see snow like this.  After inhaling breakfast, and a little coaxing to get Jax to eat, we layered on the clothes to go play outside. FYI, snow days are so much fun with a 2 year old. I think we went outside to play four different times. All of us were extremely exhausted at the end of the day. Little legs trudging around in snow make a toddler sleep like a rock, at nap time and at bed time. Mom and dad trudging around in snow, and carrying a toddler at times, make for an early bed time.

Things we did today:

Sledding, mom takes pictures.

Digging snow.

Pulling Jax around on the sled.

More pictures.

Break for lunch and a nap.

Mom takes pictures.

Shovel the sidewalk and play more in the snow.

Come inside to warm up and dry off.

Layer on the clothes again to do more sledding.

Walk around to find a bigger and better sledding hill.

Build a snowman, more pictures.

It’s almost dark, we come inside to warm up and eat dinner.

Phew!  Can you tell we never see snow like this?  The day was a blast.
